Passive House, Malvern East
Our clients for this project had purchased a run down property in Malvern East and were looking to knock down and rebuild. They are passionate about passive houses and the energy efficiency, comfort and health benefits that they offer. So they engaged Gruen Eco Design to design their new passive home and invited us on board as their passive house certified builders.
This new home is perfectly proportioned and beautifully modest. Through the front entrance, you are welcomed into the home via a full length hallway with views of the rear garden. There is a study and powder room to your left and the 3 bedrooms, family bathroom & laundry run along the right hand side of the house. The hallway takes you to an open plan kitchen, dining and living area that is flooded in natural light, with the cathedral ceiling creating a welcoming and uplifting sense of space.
This home provides a lovely connection with the outdoors, with sliding doors leading to decks at the rear and side of the house for easy indoor/outdoor living and strategically positioned generously sized windows bringing views of the outside in.
Not only is this home exceptionally energy efficient, it is also beautiful, comfortable and effortlessly functional to live in.
