Renovation & Extension, Brighton
Our clients had purchased their heritage home in Brighton 3 years before. They “loved the area, loved the location and loved the period home”, but with a growing family they needed more space. The home had tremendous potential so they decided to renovate and extend rather than move. We introduced them to one of our partner designers Ben and Ben. By working closely together as a team, with our clients’ ideas and vision, Ben and Ben’s creativity (designing the ‘new’ home as well as the interiors) and our building advice & works, we created a stunning spacious family home exuding style and timeless elegance.
The Edwardian weatherboard double fronted house was transformed by renovating the formal lounge, dining room and bedrooms in the front of the home and adding an ensuite, laundry and powder room; demolishing the old lean to extension and re-building it with a slightly larger footprint to create an open plan living/dining/kitchen with full length sliding doors leading out onto a new deck; and adding a first floor extension with two bedrooms, a family bathroom and a hang out area for the kids.
The rejuvenated heritage home now seamlessly flows through to a contemporary extension. All of the space and functionality needed for today’s family lifestyles without losing the unique charm of the heritage features and streetscape.
