Do you want to improve the energy efficiency and comfort of your home but don’t know where to start? The Residential Efficiency Scorecard will give you the answer.
The Scorecard was developed by the Victorian Government and it gives your home a star rating, like the star rating on a fridge or washing machine, as well as options for improvements. Star ratings are out of 10 and the more stars the better.
Scorecards are issued by expert independent accredited assessors. The assessor will rate the energy efficiency of your home’s construction, heating, cooling, lighting and hot water. Then, based on their expertise and experience, they will recommend practical steps that you can take to improve the efficiency of your home. The price of a Scorecard assessment will vary – usually between $250 and $500 – depending on the assessor, your home, your location and the complexity of the assessment.

Why it’s a Great Idea to get a Scorecard FIRST
If you are planning to renovate, this is the perfect time to explore options for improving the energy efficiency of your home.
A Scorecard will tell you your starting point and give you options to improve. We can advise on the cost of these options so that you can prioritise and get the best value for your money.
Also, Scorecard assessments can be undertaken on building plans. Consider getting an assessment before your plans are finalised – often small tweaks in design can lead to SIGNIFICANT cost savings later and a much more comfortable home to live in.
We think Scorecards are a fantastic tool for home owners and we’re excited about how easy they make it for you, designers and builders to work together to get the best outcome possible for you within your budget.
